If you're going to draw figures onto these by hand, do it while they're still flat (and probably before cutting them out) - but when I've used hand drawn art I usually draw it and then paste it on to cardstock cut as above. An alternative is to tape a small washer or similar weight to the inside of the triangle, but if it's too heavy you damage the figure when you pick it up. With paper figures you pretty much need a base of some kind, paper triangles blow over too easily. If I don't have bases, and the card isn't heavy enough to stand well as a triangle, I flip the ends out instead of in (making an inverted "T": ┴) and then glue a rectangle of heavier card to the bottom (╧) - that base-card can be almost anything solid. I've even used actual slotted mini bases, but for that you may need an extra sliver of card between the two sides to hold it in place. For some kinds of bases you need to flip the end bits inside. You either assemble them into triangles (Δ) or stick them in bases (there are a bunch of different stationery items that work for bases). Or you can take already drawn art from paper and just glue it to card made as above. Usually I paste in art in whatever form I have it handy, and then (if no rear view is available) flip it top-to-bottom and do a grey/black silhouette version of the front for the back. Play around until you have something you're happy with. The big rectangles should usually be about an inch and a half-ish (3.8cm ish) long and about half and inch wide, or a little wider. (though I generally run it the other direction, it's just easier to draw this way) I've played with a large number of designs, some of which are entirely self-basing, but mostly I just make them like this (excuse ascii art): _ /r/boardgames - Boardgames that isn't TTRPGs.Hide "Table Troubles-threads Related Subreddits Hide promo)-threads - (Crowdfunding, Free, Product, Self Promotion) Check our "Weekly Chat"-thread to discuss these.ĪMA Guide tips if you want to hold an AMA Filters Off-Topic: Book trade, Boardgames, wargames, video games are usually off-topic.Comments deemed abusive may be removed by moderators.
